SOME BRIEF ABOUT SOC TRANG VOCATIONAL COLLEGE

1.    DEVELOPMENT  PROCESS:

Soc Trang Vocational College  (SVC) is a public college affiliated People's Committee of Soc Trang province, which the functions and duties are to train technical work force for Soc Trang province and other provinces in the region. Formerly it is Soc Trang Vocational School, founded in 2002; in 2007  It was raised to Soc Trang Vocational College. This college was recognized by People's Committee of Soc Trang province in level1, Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) was recognized that college has standards vocational training quality testing.

Soc Trang Vocational College  increasingly asserted its prestige with the people in the province and created standing as well as level vocational schools of other provinces,  which the numbers are about 2,000 intermediate - college students  regularly and stablely.

Along with the growth in scale  and quality of training college was also raised, occupations and other forms of training increasingly wider. The majority of students - students of the school after graduation have the right job in their major, with a relatively high income compared with workers in the region.

          SVC currently  has 160 staffs, teachers that was  standardized technical and political theory.  In many fields are invested and completed facilities and vocational training equipment quite well. Beside that there are 3 vocational which raised a national level (Aquaculture saline, brackish water; food processing; processing and preserving seafood); ASEAN Regional vocational level 2 (Industrial Electronics; Automotive Technology).

Each passing year, SVC developed step by step,  reinforced the confidence of the provincial Party Committee,  Provincial People's Committee and the reputation was built higher in society for work force resource training high quality, contributed  positively to the social-economic development for the province and regional Mekong Delta.

2.    SUBORDINATE UNITS:

          There are 13 departments, faculties and centers  affiliated SocTrang Vocational College currently, including 5 departments, 6 faculties and 2 centers.

3.    VOCATIONAL TRAINING:

               SocTrang Vocational College is training College and Intermediate level including 17 vocational:

In addition training college and intermediate degree, Beginner level and training vocational less than 3 months were trained whom request of the office, enterprises and employees; moreover it’s regularly opens the training courses to get certify Computer Science, English, driving license  A1, B1, B2, C and D.

SVC  also cooperated training with the other Universities to study higher and the people in and outside the province have opportunity to continue studying

We have signed with Agreement and Memorandum understand about cooperation and development of vocational training with 7 institutes affiliated of Indonesia, Cambodia and Philippines . In other to open up opportunities for enhancing college quality and adapted for international standards of training and education, as well as cultural exchange with foreign countries in ASEAN.

       4.  MATERIAL FACILITIES  FOR TRAINING:

   Soc Trang Vocational College has 80,000 m2 of usable area. The college has 30 airy classrooms, facilities was equipped to apply information technology in teaching.

In particular, the college was built many factories to practice including: 04 Programming- Software applications rooms, 02 for Hardware - Computer Networks rooms, 02 language laboratories, aquatic laboratory, breeding laboratory, arboretum, 02 lathing factories, cooling-welding factory, chassis factory, Diesel engine factory, Petrol engine factory, car electric factory, dismounting-fitting engine factory, food factory, aquatic factory, water-soft drink factory, microorganism laboratory, chemistry laboratory, electronic factory, automation factory, industrial electricity factory, mechanization electrification factory, civil electro-refrigeration factory,industrial electro-refrigeration factory, pneumatic factory, micro processing factory, power electronics factory, pulse-numeric factory, PCL factory. Most of factories are equipped with facilities suitable for training.

College dormitory has 116 rooms, with a capacity over 800 students. The college also has library, physical education area, medical room, 2 Canteens serve students, teachers and officers.

         5. POLICY FOR LEARNERS:

Many kinds of candidates are reduced and free from 50 % to 100% of school fee. Policy scholarships have been received, intern students’policy and other policy supports follow by the State ‘s law.
